AASA Vision Conference 2008
Vision-Strategy-Results: Bringing the Global Automotive Aftermarket Into Focus

Overview
AASA Vision Conference 2008 is a member-only event that will focus on critical business issues facing automotive aftermarket suppliers. Its purpose is to provide a forum for the open exchange of ideas, hear best practices from within and outside the industry, and identify industry and corporate strategies that will support members’ efforts to achieve increased levels of profitability.

Format
The Vision will take place over two days, from 1:00 on Friday, February 28 to 4:00 on Saturday, March 1, 2008. General session speakers will be recognized leaders or experts in global manufacturing, marketing, distribution or supply chain.

Workgroup sessions will enable facilitators to engage attendees on specific topics to identify issues and potential solutions. Facilitators will be carefully selected members with a passion and experience with the respective topics. Vision Workgroup Sessions are:

  • Global Selling & Sourcing – best practices for taking advantage of the flattening world
  • Member Collaboration – opportunities to leverage nearly 300 members to reduce costs or streamline the access to information
  • Education/Training – strategies for connecting with customers in a collaborative way among all members or as individual companies

Results from the Workgroup Sessions will be presented during the last general session.

Potential Keynote Topics
The AASA Vision Conference Planning Committee has identified possible keynote topics as Exploring New International Opportunities, Lessons Learned from a Global Automotive Supplier, How Washington is Affecting the Aftermarket Business Environment, Re-inventing to Stay on the Leading Edge, Telematics and other Technologies on the Horizon, Establishing a Strong Position with Customers, Services & Products – A Two-Prong Approach.

Target Audience
Attendees will include executives from AASA member companies in the areas of management, sales, marketing, procurement, operations, government affairs, supply chain and manufacturing. There will be an estimated 200-250 attendees.

Event Benefits
The automotive aftermarket parts and chemicals suppliers face increasing challenges in sustaining profitability. AASA and its the Vision Conference 2008 will support members in these efforts through:

  • communicating the outlook/vision of the future aftermarket supplying industry
  • engaging and interacting with various member employees (in addition to executives)
  • providing networking for members only (no customers, vendors, media, etc.)
  • evaluating best practices and successes from other industries
  • identifying strategic direction and new initiatives
